Nicole Reed is a New Zealand born, Australian painter who works in oil to create atmospheric landscapes and still life, capturing mood and nostalgia.
From her seaside studio on the Sunshine Coast, Nicole draws inspiration from the rugged beauty of the coastal landscape. Her love of botanicals, antiques and vintage wares find their way into her paintings.
A still life painting often begins with growing produce and blooms, selecting props, setting a stage, choreographing, lighting, photographing and post processing. A process Nicole feels enriches her works.
Nicole has a Bachelor of Fine Art from the Queensland University of Technology, bringing her skills as a graphic designer to her practice. Nicole has been a finalist in several Australian art prizes, her works hang throughout Australia and internationally.
